March Newsletter
Updated: Oct 25, 2022
Happy March! This month (and this week) marks a calendar year since the country began to shutdown amidst the unknowns of the COVID-19 virus. My, how far we've come!
HLS extends our thanks to each of our clients, customers, friends, and supporters who have helped us to persevere through the chaos. With spring around the corner and hopes of a return to "normal," HLS continues to look forward to providing our community with all their lighting solutions.
Enjoy this month's lighting projects!

High-End Residential Chandeliers – Cleveland, OH
The installation of this family of glass pendant chandeliers is complete! Each round canopy has 26 bubbled and crackled glass ball pendants made custom by our friends at the Glass Asylum in Chagrin Falls. Each ball is fitted with a custom LED assembly module, and then hung at various lengths to fill the space with a pleasant ambient aura.

Prototyping and Testing
These stem-and-ball configurations are a prototype test to determine the viability of our design and the functionality of the lights within them. Pictured is a single pendant that will become one of many hanging from a larger ceiling-mounted canopy. 3D printing allows us to iterate faster and is less costly than traditional methods.
What Goes Up, Must Be Lit
Before any custom fixture we fabricate gets ready for finishing and packaging, we have to make sure it actually works! This double-ball chandelier is hung from our powered winch during inspection and lamp testing. This involves double checking all mechanical connections (safety first!) and testing the lamp source to ensure we get both the lumen output and desired "look" that the client expects. This particular chandelier passed the test, so keep an eye out for the finished product in the coming months!
