Are you getting excited for the long weekend? If there is anyone who loves a good fireworks display, it would be lighting designers! Just like the summer heat, we are warming up to many exciting projects. Here are some of the things we've been working on - enjoy this month's lighting design projects!
Lighting Project of the Month

2605 Detroit Avenue – Ohio City, Cleveland, OH
As we celebrate the history of America's independence this weekend, HLS is also reflecting on the past... Restoration of historic fixtures is always a prideful process for us. Bringing back the original intended beauty and form of these fixtures while simultaneously retrofitting them to accept high-efficiency LED lamp sources was a fun challenge. This project took a lot of collaboration from our friends at Beacon Metal Fabricators and specialty artist Laurel Herbold from 78th Street Studios.
What's Happening at the Shop?
Shimmering, Shining, Chandeliers
This custom globe light (left) is a color-modified unit in a series of globes. The color change helps us to see how different colors react with diffuser materials. The middle isn't a photo of spiders! Instead they are very large chandeliers to be cleaned up and retrofitted with LED components. We kept the interior white to provide maximum reflectivity of the light source. The palm tree chandelier (bottom right) was also in need of some TLC, so we are helping to give it the facelift it needs.
